My husband, Sean, and I have been married twenty-five years and we have two beautiful children, our daughter, Madison, and our son, Patrick.

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family, reading, writing, web & resource design, and crafts.

EXPECTATIONS

HOMEWORK

Homework is a means of reinforcing and practicing what a student learns at school. It is also a time to prepare for tests, practice math facts, and read. When homework is given, it is expected to be completed and returned to school the next day. If a student is absent, they have as many days as they miss to make is up.

If your child realizes they left their homework at school, please check this website to make sure it isn't available to download from the math page. If it isn't, please send me an email. They may turn it in late, minus 5 points. If it becomes a habit, 10 points will be taken off.

Remember it is your child's responsibility to get it into their backpack, but sometimes, they still need reminding.

NOTES & FORMS

Please check your child's backpack and agenda nightly. They will be writing down their assignments daily and any news we have to share. If there are notes or forms, please check the dealine to see when those are due. If you haven't signed up for the REMIND alerts, this is a great way to stay aware of deadlines, upcoming tests, etc. You can follow the instructions on the WELCOME (Home) page to sign up for this feature.

STUDY GUIDES & TESTS

I always review with students before any tests or quizes in class. Most of the time there will be an actual study guide. Other times we use highlighters and highlight the notes, important information, sample problems, etc that they will have on a test. Students are to bring home their math notebooks to help them prepare for any test we have. They are welcome to bring these home nightly, as long as they remember to bring them back the next day.

Parents are required to sign the study guides or notebooks acknowledging that you have helped your child review and prepare for their test. They are given an additional 5 point extra credit for having it signed.
